Canada goose Chasing Dogs in NJ, NY & CT
Finding innovative and humane ways to deal with a Canada goose infestation can certainly be challenge, especially if you’re trying to do it yourself. But if you live in the tri-state area, you’re in luck! Birds and Geese Beware, Inc. has a squad of Canada goose chasing dogs to do the job for you.
While a Canada goose can be a beautiful sight, they have come to be widely considered a nuisance, much like the pigeons in NYC, because they have become spoiled by hand-feeding pedestrians. Unlike pigeons, however, these birds are 3ft long, and the waste of large flocks can cause a much more significant health hazard.
From our name, you can see we are well acquainted with geese and their fighting nature, just as living in NJ, NY, or CT has surely taught you that trying to chase one away can result in you getting chased by the bird. It’s our goal to keep you from having to get in the ring with an angry goose! So here at Birds and Geese Beware, we train our Canada goose chasing dogs to round up whole flocks and get them off your property, at no risk to you.
The dogs we use are border collies, perfectly suited for herding, rather than just chasing the geese away. Any dog will happily chase birds it comes across on a walk–ducks, pigeons, seagulls–but border collies were bred to herd, not just chase for fun. That herding instinct means they won’t only scatter the birds, they can get them to MOVE. But they’re not hunters, so they won’t hurt them either. As annoying as a flock of these noisy, aggressive birds can be, we strive to keep our removal methods humane, and our canine employees do a great job of staying ethical.
Border collies are smart, but that’s not the only thing one of our goose-chasers has to be. We make sure our goose-chasers have big attitudes, bigger than the attitudes the birds have. That way, they won’t be intimidated by an angry honking nuisance flapping its wings. They’ll get the job done.
Of course, once they get past the angry honking and flapping wings, our border collies have to be able to do more than just chase the birds; they have to make sure that they know retreating into a pond or lake isn’t going to keep them safe. For that reason, we train all of our dogs to swim out after the geese in all kinds of bodies of water, such as rivers, lakes, and even the beach. We make sure they are ready for whatever your property looks like.
With that said, what types of properties do we service here at Birds and Geese Beware, Inc? Anything that has a flock of birds terrorizing it! We work in NY, NJ, and CT, and we’ve brought our dogs to golf courses, roadways, apartment complexes, schools, parks…public or private, our company has the training (for both our humans and canines!) to take care of your bird problem and get your property back in order in no time.
